For those involved in the management of outdoor spaces you can play an important role in creating excellent outdoor space for learning. New schools and major refurbishment projects can be designed for biodiversity, but opportunities also exist to create biodiversity projects in existing school grounds which will support the curriculum.

Case Study - Monifieth High School

Monifieth High has developed a vocational course in Horticulture to provide an alternative curriculum for S3 and S4 pupils. They have developed an area outside their Science department to grow food and are working with local communities to develop their town centre.
