Scottish Biodiversity Forum Working Groups

The SBF Working Groups have under gone a re-structure to integrate devolved UKBAP responsibilities with the new SBS Implementation Plans (2008-2010). These new structures, launched on the 24h Sept, 2008, will help facilitate an ecosystem approach to planning and delivery, provide a more streamlined way of working and provide a stronger focus on delivering outcomes and targets.
The new SBF Working Groups are made up of representatives of organisations relevant to their area of focus, with guidance provided by the Action Co-ordination Group. The terms of reference and the new structures chart shows how the groups are linked. The implementation of biodiversity conservation is a devolved matter and the SBF is therefore responsible to Scottish Ministers for biodiversity work in Scotland to meet UK and international obligations, based on an ecosystem approach.
