Public bodies
All public bodies have a duty to further the conservation of biodiversity in carrying out their varied functions. This biodiversity duty also applies to the staff of those public bodies.
At first glance the connection between some public bodies and biodiversity might seem to be slight. However all public bodies can help maintain and enhance biodiversity in Scotland. This can be directly, for example through the way in which they manage their property or indirectly, for example in combating climate change .
